Hello, I'm Kate Quay

I’m a bike industry veteran and cyclist of 20 years. I was a competitive road and gravel rider until I began experiencing symptoms of pudendal neuralgia in 2018. I spent years struggling to find clear information or support, and the loss of riding was devastating. Once I began my recovery journey, I created this space to help cyclists better understand PN and access resources that can support healing.

At the time, I didn’t realize how many other riders were quietly going through the same experience. After launching the site in 2020, I began receiving emails, messages, and calls from cyclists around the world wanting to ask questions, share their stories, and simply connect. Those conversations made it clear that this wasn’t just my experience - it was something many riders were navigating without adequate support. Over time, those conversations shaped what PN and Cycling evolved into: a larger hub providing education, rider stories, recovery perspectives, and connections to specialists who understand this condition.

You can read my rider story on the site here. My hope is that by sharing what I’ve learned, alongside the experiences of other riders, more people feel informed, supported, and empowered as they navigate their own journeys. Today, I consider myself fully recovered, though I’ve swapped out high-mileage road and gravel riding for mountain biking and am loving the new challenge.

Through my personal healing journey - and the many conversations that followed - I developed a deep curiosity about how understanding ourselves can change the way we heal. PN and Cycling is a reflection of that belief: that when we better understand our symptoms, stress, and nervous system responses, it changes how we recover. This experience has gradually expanded my interests toward creating frameworks and educational spaces that help people better understand themselves, integrating nervous system science, lived experience, and mindfulness along the way.
